PLAY PRACTICE development with Dr Julie Sheils @ Melbournes Living Museum of the West

InPlay Projects embarked on a 2-week practice development with Artist In Residence at the Living Museum of the West, Dr Julie Shiels. The time together was dedicated to playing, exploring, and discussing the potentiality of site-responsive dance practice and the importance of place within an art-making context.  Together, they embarked on mapping exercises, sound walks, site analysis and a lot of in-depth discussion.

Thank you to the Living Museum of the West for hosting us, and thank you to Julie Sheils for offering her insight and knowledge to help us develop our own individual practice.

This development was done through Creative Director Alec Katsourakis’ artist in residence opportunity through the Living Museum of the West. Alec is there exploring a site-responsive dance practice, inter-disciplinary research & creation, as well as researching the archives and translating that research into choreography.
